Practical Industry Knowledge (PIK) Examination


ICMA Pakistan has introduced this optional Practical Industry Knowledge (PIK) Examination, a special initiative for longstanding students who have demonstrated consistent academic progress and gained extensive professional exposure over the years. The purpose of this examination is to offer a structured format focusing on industry knowledge, professional expertise, and applied skills. It is tailored for students who are nearing completion of their qualification but have faced challenges in continuing their studies due to professional responsibilities.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Practical Industry Knowledge (PIK) Examination, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Completion of at least 75% of prescribed papers at the Operational, Managerial and Strategic levels;
  • Minimum of eight years of relevant industry experience at the middle management level or above;
  • Registration with ICMA Pakistan for at least the last ten (10) years.
Methodology

The Practical Industry Knowledge (PIK) Examination covers the same subjects as the regular examination, featuring essay-type questions, case studies, scenario-based decision-making, problem-solving tasks and multiple-choice questions focused on real industry applications. Exclusive online refresher courses are available to support candidates in their preparation.
