Examination Progression Scheme



Students enrolled under Coaching/Distance Learning program [DLP] can take exams for up to three new courses with in a six-months period, provided they have completed all other eligibility requirements, however, he/she will be allowed to appear in maximum six courses in a sequential order as per following Level-wise examination progression scheme:

Operational Level-1:
  • Any student having 12-year education may join CMA from Operational Level-1 and appear in the examination of same level courses only.
Operational Level-2:
  • The existing students may appear in examination of Operational Level-2 along with all/remaining courses of Operational Level-1 in which he/she has already appeared.
  • In case any student who has obtained waivers in some of the courses of Operational Level-1 & 2 on the basis of previous qualification may also appear in new three courses of Operational Level 1& 2 in a sequential order.

Managerial level-1:
  • Any student having 14-year or 16-year [non-commerce/business studies] education may join CMA from Managerial Level-1 and appear in the examination of same level courses only.
  • Any student who has passed or obtained waivers in all/some courses of Operational Level-1 or 2, may appear in three new courses up to Managerial Level-1 in a sequential order along with remaining courses of Operational Level-1 & 2 in which he/she has already appeared provided minimum three courses of operational level 1 or 2 should be passed/ waived and six months’ examination criteria as prescribed above for the three new courses has been met.
Managerial level-2:
  • Any student having 16-year [commerce/business studies] education may join CMA from Managerial Level-2 and appear in the examination of same level courses only.
  • Any student who has passed/obtained waiver in all courses of Operational Level 1 and all/some courses of Operational Level 2 or Managerial Level 1, may appear in three new courses up to Managerial Level-2 in a sequential order along with remaining courses of Operational Level 2 and Managerial Level 1 in which he/she has already appeared provided minimum three courses of operational level 2 or Managerial Level 1 should be passed/ waived and six months’ examination criteria as prescribed above for the three new courses has been met.

Strategic Level-1:
  • Any student who has passed/obtained waiver in all courses of Operational Level -1 & 2 and all/some courses of Managerial Level 1 or 2, may appear in three new courses up to Strategic Level-1 in a sequential order along with remaining courses of Managerial Level 1 & 2 in which he/she has already appeared provided minimum three courses of Managerial Level 1 or 2 should be passed/ waived and six months’ examination criteria as prescribed above for the three new courses has been met.
Strategic Level-2:
  • Any student who has passed/obtained waiver in all courses up to Managerial Level -1 and passed or obtained waivers in all/some courses of Managerial Level 2 or Strategic Level 1, may appear in three new courses up to Strategic Level-2 in a sequential order along with remaining courses of Managerial Level 2 & Strategic Level 1 in which he/she has already appeared provided minimum three courses of Managerial Level 2 or Strategic Level 1 should be passed/ waived and six months’ examination criteria as prescribed above for the three new courses has been met.

Practical Corporate Training Modules:

Any student may appear in modules after fulfilling appended below prerequisites:

Completed M6-Corporate Governance and Business Laws PM5-Practical Aspects of Business Laws
PM7-Practical Understanding of Regulatory Bodies in Pakistan
Completed S3- Business Taxation PM4-Practical Aspects of Taxation

Beside the revised scheme, the Examination Committee may also consider the request(s) on a case to case basis which is/are not covered under the above parameters, provided there shall be no clash of examination papers for a candidate in the same examination session.
